Hi, I’m Chris!
Hello! I’m Chris, your drum teacher, and I’m here to guide you on an exciting drumming journey. With 22 years of experience, I’m excited to share all the fun and skills of drumming with you and your family.
As we start, imagine how drumming can transform your world. Picture yourself (or your child!) confidently playing rhythms, feeling the beat, and expressing your unique style. It’s all possible. And it can all be achieved in less time than you think.
ADULTS
With 15 years of experience teaching adults (of all ages!), I personalise my approach to each individual with confidence. Creating an enjoyable learning atmosphere, I use a versatile set of tools to accommodate various learning styles and musical preferences. Beyond just drumming skills, my goal is to ignite a lasting passion for playing music in every student.
My lessons help you:
Build Confidence:
In drumming lessons, I not only enhance your drumming skills but also boost overall confidence. Overcoming drumming challenges extends to increased self-assurance, positively influencing various life areas for a well-rounded, confident outlook.
Gain Rhythm Mastery:
Understand and feel different rhythms intuitively. Mastering rhythm becomes second nature, akin to speaking a second language. This versatility allows you to express yourself fluently in diverse musical genres.
Discover Your Style:
Cultivate your unique drumming style, making your musical expression truly yours. This individuality sets you apart and earns admiration from others who appreciate authenticity in your musical identity.
Perform with Confidence:
Learn the art of stage performance gradually. Over time, you’ll acquire the skills to perform with ease, connecting with your audience and leaving a lasting impression. The goal is to make complex drumming routines appear effortless
Perform with Others:
Master the art of collaboration with fellow musicians. Acquire secret tricks and techniques for seamless musical teamwork. These skills not only enhance your musical abilities but also broaden your understanding of different genres and styles through collaborative exploration.
KIDS
I also specialise in teaching children!
Having learnt drums as a kid myself, I understand how important it is to find a proper drum teacher that can not only communicate well but instil and nurture real passion. Fortunately, after teaching children for 15 years I’ve developed a unique, exciting and inspirational style which does just that!
Similarly to my own daily experience, you’ll be delighted to see how the lessons contribute to your child’s growth and enjoyment!
How my lessons help your children:
1. Joy of Learning: My primary focus is to make drumming enjoyable for your child, steering clear of any ‘chore’ sentiment. Utilising engaging methods such as jam sessions, creative challenges, themed lessons, gamified learning and weaving in their beloved music, video games and TV shows (with a touch of absurd humour!), you’ll rejoice as they return home after each lesson, excitedly sharing how much fun they had.
2. Boost in Self-Esteem: I assist your child in developing self-esteem. As they master new rhythms and techniques, gaining confidence, you’ll openly share in their pride as they return daily, expressing satisfaction with their achievements.
3. Enhanced Coordination and Focus: Drumming goes beyond music; it improves coordination and focus. My goal is to cultivate these vital skills in a fun and engaging manner, setting your child up for success in various aspects of life.
4. Creative Expression: In addition to the technical aspects of drumming, I ensure your child can express themselves creatively. This not only enriches their musical experience but also contributes to their mental well-being by providing a means to regulate their emotions.
5. Teamwork Skills: The final key skill my lessons foster is teamwork. Your child learns to listen, coordinate, and create beautiful music with peers, understanding how to be part of a musical group with other musicians.
If you’re still uncertain about starting, the best way to assess its value is to make an informed decision before proceeding.
Allow me to assist you by offering a way to ‘try before you commit.’ To simplify the process, I provide a complimentary 30-minute taster lesson (Valued at £23!).
This opportunity allows you to experience a lesson without a full commitment upfront, providing a glimpse into the learning experience. I also offer online lessons!
Due to my limited capacity to take on new clients at the moment, it’s also a way to see if we’re a good fit to work together.
